The Partners In Education program was developed in 1990 through a cooperative effort by the Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce and the local school systems. Many successful partnerships have been formed and continue to contribute greatly to the enrichment and the quality of education in Thomaston and Upson County. The Thomaston-Upson School System has over 40 local business, community, and faith-based active partners. Some of our partnership programs include: West Central Georgia Bank Student GOAL Card Program, Chick-fil-A ULHS Leader Academy, Home Depot-sponsored school and student projects, ULHS Quad Graphics Design Lab, Thomaston Ford (now Southern Ford) Driver’s Ed car for ULHS, Dart Foundation Grants, Southern Rivers Bright Ideas Teacher Grants, and the Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership Upson program. The T-U Schools Partnership In Education program is administered by the office of School and Community Relations and coordinated by the individual schools.
